The Laurel confirms NBC CT trouble shooting reporter George Colli is leaving for a job in Washington, D.C.
Starting next month, Colli will become a D.C. correspondent for the Cox Media Group, filing reports on breaking news, politics and investigations for Cox stations across the country. The list includes some big markets like; Boston, Atlanta, Seattle and Orlando.
We first ran across Colli as a backpack freelance journalist out of Suffield who worked his way onto the staff at Fox 61 and then eventually NBC CT. He also ran and lost a race for the state Senate before beginning his journalism career in earnest.

BTW – Colli will be joining a large group of Washington, D.C. based reporters with Connecticut connections. It won’t be long before he runs into some familiar faces.
