Early reaction to news Gannett wants to buy Tribune Publishing seems to suggest the Gannett offer is good and probably too good for Tribune to pass up.
The initial reaction from Tribune on Monday morning was cool, but by the end of the day several analysts were saying the Tribune board may have no choice but to accept the Gannett offer because it is in the best financial interest of shareholders.
Tribune, of course, owns the Hartford Courant.
