The Fox News relationship with Trinity College alum Tucker Carlson was always going to end badly, according to new reporting and analysis from Brain Stelter.
The former CNN media reporter is still working the story and has published a new book about Fox called Network of Lies. In an excerpt published in Vanity Fair, Stelter describes a Carlson led team that isolated itself from the network as a whole and came to believe they were bigger than Fox itself; more important, and indispensable. As it turns out, that was not the case.
Observation: Over the years, we have seen the same scenario play out with local news anchors and sometimes reporters who believe they are the indispensable player at a local station only to discover – at the end of a contract negotiation – that they are indeed replaceable.
