For more than a year, the nation’s capital has been without a single correspondent devoted  to covering Connecticut’s congressional delegation. That’s because the state’s major dailies have all laid off their D.C. reporters. The good news is that the CT Mirror has announced the hiring of Deirdre Shesgreen; according to the  posting on the Mirror, she “covered Washington for more than a dozen years for organizations including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch” and is now the fifth reporter to join the Mirror’s staff.
