New York Times White House reporter and Trump chronicler Maggie Haberman was in Hartford Tuesday night to promote her new book; Confidence Man, which tells the origin story of former President Donald Trump. The event was sponsored by the Mark Twain House.
The audience heard from a relaxed Haberman during an hour long interview led by columnist, author, and University of New Haven journalism professor Susan Campbell.
Haberman, who noted that she spent a year at Trinity College, showed a different side of her personality that felt less careful and more good humored than her appearances as a contributor on CNN. Campbell asked short, simple questions that helped give the audience of about 300 a deeper insight into both Haberman and Trump.
