Ganim and Harris.
“We’ll see what happens.”
That’s the official line from Av Harris, the former spokesman for Connecticut Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, who is now helping Bridgeport mayor-elect Joe Ganim, as Ganim prepares to take office.
We’ve also learned Harris was “let go” – his term – from his position with the secretary. There’s not much explanation beyond that.
Harris came to Connecticut as a reporter for WNPR, before moving into state government as a spokesman. Harris has a strong base of support within the Capitol press corps which means Merrill is in for some special scrutiny and Ganim could be about to hire someone who will be a big help in swaying a press corps skeptical of his political resurrection.
