The sister publications known as The Hartford Business Journal and New Haven Biz are merging newsrooms and expanding coverage statewide.
New Haven editor Michelle Tuccitto Sullo will become managing editor of the newly combined enterprise reporting to HBJ editor Greg Bordonaro. Together the two will manage the largest staff of business reporters and editors in Connecticut. This, by definition, would seem to make the Hartford/New Haven team the most influential business news operation in the state.
From an announcement published on the New Haven Biz site:
“As part of Hartford Business Journal’s coverage expansion, New Haven Biz will no longer publish separate print publications or email newsletters. New Haven Biz digital content will eventually be transferred to HBJ’s website.”
Both the HBJ and New Haven Biz are owned by New England Business Media which also owns the Worcester Business Journal and Mainebiz.
