Connecticut Public’s community engagement and social media editor Sabrina Herrera is one of thirty women chosen to take part in Poynter’s  Leadership Academy for Women in Media. It will be the first in-person academy since the before times as Poynter emerges from the pandemic.

During the week-long academy in May, “participants grow their self-awareness, harness their leadership potential, learn how to foster belonging, empathy and inspiration on their teams, and guide their organizations through crisis and opportunity,” according to Poynter.

The academy is designed for women and non-binary journalists in their first five years of media workplace leadership.
