If you’ve ever listened to former governor John Rowland’s afternoon drive show on WTIC-am you know that a favorite target of his is the New Britain to Hartford busway that he disparagingly refers to as “The Magic Bus.” Well, that and other afternoon targets have led the Connecticut Laborers’ District Council to protest today at the WTIC-am studios in Farmington. The unions don’t like what they call Rowland’s “continual biased and hateful talk against unions, public projects such as the CTfastrak (Busway) project and the spending of state tax dollars.” The group also plans to petition the FCC.
John Rowland has a case of convenient amnesia when it comes to supporting the CTfastrak (Busway) project. He supported this important regional transportation project for years and that effort continued through the Rell Administration as well,” according to Charles LeConche of the Connecticut Laborers’ District Council.
However, during the education reform debate at the capitol, Rowland seemed to be taking the side of the teachers’ unions (apparently just to oppose Malloy’s efforts). Regardless, today’s protest has surely taken care of Rowland’s need for show prep.
GOV. ROWLAND IS ENTITLED TO HIS OPINION.THIS IS AMERICA FREE SPEECH.
It’s sad, but once tarnished by conviction that changes the ‘rights’ even for a former Governor with a bully pulpit. Unbiased – how could he be??
Southington CT.poster must be a union member.

It’s not a matter for the FCC.
