The social media networks of Connecticut TV reporters were burning up Tuesday after the announcement about the merger between Media General and Meredith – the parent companies of the state’s two biggest long time geographical TV rivals.
CT Capitol Report wondered which personalities would survive a deal that could result in the sale of at least one of three Connecticut TV stations to yet another big company. There was further speculation that the deal is being made in advance of the 2016 presidential election in an attempt to cash in on the billions in political advertising that is expected.
