It looks as if the Media General/Meredith merger we’ve been following for the past several weeks is now more likely.
Media General has rejected Nexstar’s take-over bid and both companies say negotiations are at an impasse. The Nexstar bid put the brakes on a previously announced Media General/Meredith merger that could have ownership ramifications for both WTNH and WFSB.
It is believed a combined MG/Meredith would have to sell one of the Connecticut stations. We’ll watch for the next step.
