The shareholders of Nexstar and Media General have voted – in separate meetings – in favor of a merger.
The deal could be finalized by the end of the year.
Media General owns WTNH News 8 in New Haven. The Nexstar/Media General merger grew out of an earlier attempt by Media General and Meredith(WFSB) to merge into one company. That deal fell apart almost as soon as it was announced.
