Twenty-five years ago this month Connecticut ended an eight month long legislative battle and passed an income tax.
There have been smatterings of reports on the anniversary spread throughout the Connecticut news media in the last week or so, including a full op-ed spread on the topic in this weekend’s Hartford Courant.
Two and a half decades later the tax is still controversial and still serves as the backdrop of any debate over the budget that occurs at the state capitol.
