WFSB Morning News Anchor Irene O’Connor announced this morning that she is leaving the AM anchor desk. After 14 years at WFSB, she will transition to doing fill-in, freelance work. As she said during her announcement, her twin boys turned 10 over the weekend and for the first time she’ll be able to take them to school. Filling her role will be current traffic reporter Nicole Nalepa. Before Irene anchored she was a terrific reporter so we know she has what it takes to continue to forge a great career; it just won’t require waking up at 2:45 am.
