The race for mayor of Bridgeport is not over, but today former mayor and convicted felon Joe Ganim is celebrating the start of a comeback with a primary win over incumbent Bill Finch.
Politics aside, what we’d like to call attention to is the photography of Cloe Poisson of the Hartford Courant from Ganim’s campaign HQ. Two pictures in particular capture the emotions and controversy surrounding Ganim’s win.
The first – perhaps accidentally – captures the skepticism of long time Connecticut political reporter Greg Hladky(blue shirt), who before Wednesday night, probably thought he had seen it all.
The second captures the elation of Ganim and former state Senator Ernie Newton, also a convicted felon, who in Ganim’s victory may see possibility for his own redemption.
