We knew that Connecticut sportscaster Joe D’Ambrosio was leaving the morning show at WTIC AM 1080 in June, 2021. But he announced this morning that he’s negotiated a buyout and New Year’s Eve will be his last day on air.
Joe started at WTIC in 1992 doing play-by-play when the station won the rights to broadcast UConn football and men’s basketball. He’s been partnered with Ray Dunaway in the mornings for the past few years. Joe says he’s “looking forward to stepping out of the spotlight and enjoying life.” For the remainder of the week he’ll interview some of his favorite guests.
Joe, you’ll be missed. Don’t stay away long.
