As observers of the news business in Connecticut we cannot help but notice the high number of graduates from the Quinnipiac and UConn journalism programs who end up working in the field and how many land jobs here in Connecticut or eventually return after starting somewhere else.
The success of Connecticut journalism students is not limited to Quinnipiac and UConn, but a casual count shows graduates from those two schools showing up most often in stories published by The Laurel.
It all leads us to conclude the programs are meeting the promise they’ve made to their students to prepare them for their careers and – at least in the field of journalism – Connecticut colleges and universities are creating a pipeline of workers who are giving back to the state.
