There are reports on this Groundhog Day that Connecticut native and CNN President Chris Licht is reaching out to CBS Mornings host Gayle King(WFSB) to host a night time talk show, presumably during the 9p.m. hour on CNN.
Under the envisioned arrangement King would be allowed to continue working at CBS. The move might look very much like a movie about the early days of CNN with Gayle King playing the part of Larry King.
Licht worked with King at CBS. We don’t know King’s reaction, but we suspect CBS would also have to sign off on such a deal, which should not be out of the question since Anderson Cooper is a contributor to 60 Minutes and there have been many efforts over the years by CNN and CBS to merge resources.
