There are unconfirmed reports Bristol based ESPN is considering major layoffs as a means to cut costs in a rapidly changing cable TV programming environment.
Within the last year several high profile on-air personalities have been let go when contract negotiations reportedly broke down over money. Now it appears, the sports leader maybe looking to cut costs further down the production chain as consumers get their video entertainment elsewhere.
The trend ESPN is dealing with is said to be behind recent cuts, programming changes, and mergers at other channels in the cable TV world.
