Layoffs at Clear Channel Radio Stations

Clear Channel Communications has cut 1,850 jobs across its corporate, outdoor and radio divisions, or about 9 percent of the total workforce. A reader tells us that layoffs have hit some of the Connecticut sales staff, and there’s an assumption that some on-air talent will be affected. Clear Channel owns a variety of stations in the state:
In the Hartford metro, WKSS-FM, WPOP-AM (ESPN Radio 1410), WURH-FM, WWYZ-FM (country 92.5).
In New Haven: WAVZ-AM (ESPN Radio 1300), WELI-AM (News/talk 960), WKCI-FM
(KC 101.3)
