Layoffs at NEPM

Western Massachusetts based New England Public Media has announced plans to eliminate seventeen people, or twenty-percent of its staff.

Employees were told the cuts were part of an effort to regain financial stability in the next four years.

NEPM owns WGBY television, WFCR radio and five repeating stations in Berkshire County.

The station group is also part of the New England News Collaborative managed from Connecticut Public. NENC includes; GBH, New Hampshire Public Radio, Vermont Public, Maine Public, CAI Cape and Islands, and WSHU.
