There is some irony in the fact that we are learning of layoffs at the New Haven Register from the New Haven Independent. The path of the information flow seems to put added emphasis on the decline of print and the rise of news published first on the Internet.
More than 30 people have reportedly lost their jobs at the Register and the Torrington Register Citizen, both owned by Digital First Media.
