The Westport Minuteman and Fairfield Minuteman newspapers have both let reporters go according to a source that spoke with WestportNow.com. More than 15 other journalists stationed in Connecticut at 21st Century Media and Digital First Media CT have been laid off and that number has risen with the newest addition of several classified advertising employees.
The dismissal reflects a downsizing trend at the two newspapers as the parent company emphasizes its Internet and digital coverage.
