The Journal Register Company, parent company to the Housatonic Times and Litchfield County Times, laid off seven employees in its  New Milford bureau which serves those two papers.

Publisher Matt DeRienzo says the company will use the staff of the Litchfield County Times and the Torrington Reigster-Citizen to produce copy for the two papers.
