In this year of COVID, the more things stay the same, the more they change. Case in point: the quadrennial gatherings of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions to select the parties’ Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates. While the conventions will both still take place, they are happening weeks later than initially scheduled and, more importantly, they will be taking place virtually. It will be interesting to see how the lack of packed, raucous crowds changes the vibe of each convention.
First up, starting tonight is the Democratic National Convention. The convention will air tonight through Thursday from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm each night. The major networks, ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News, will carry the 10-11 pm hour live. C-SPAN, CNN, MSNBC and PBS will cover the full two hours each night. The convention will also be streamed on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire.
