Remember that random weekday morning back in April when Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon were both fired on the same day?
This random Monday in August has the same feel to it for CNN, but with a much more positive twist.
The network has announced a new program line-up that elevates several rising stars for a primetime line-up designed to carry viewers through the coming Trump trials and the 2024 election year. The changes include, but are not limited to:
Abby Phillip – 10p.m.
Laura Coates – 11p.m.
Kasie Hunt – Early Start(5a.m.)
Phil Mattingly – Co-anchor CNN This Morning
Since the departure of Chris Licht as CNN’s president The Laurel has been watching closely for any changes associated with his decision to pair Gayle King(WFSB) and Charles Barkley for a weekly program called King Charles.
In Monday’s news release the writing appears to be on the wall. The program is still scheduled to premiere “later this fall,” but it is also described only as “the show” and it is further described as “a limited series.” (See: Finding Italy with Stanley Tucci). The show was originally planned for Wednesday’s at 9p.m. It won’t be long before CNN sees the King/Barkley show as a disruption to the hour anchored by Kaitlan Collins.
