For over 40 years this empty lot at what appears to be a prime location in downtown Hartford was the site of Broadcast House, the home of WFSB. For more than 10 years it has been what it is today – a fenced-in patch of crab grass littered with concrete blocks.
The current owner has had several development ideas for the location, but none has been brought to completion. Now it’s for sale – and some would argue at an inopportune time.
With the post pandemic retreat from the office, the most obvious use for this piece of land – an office building of some kind – no longer seems like a good choice. Residential? Parking garage(we hope not)? One possibility is a home location for a single use tenant with a need and desire for signature downtown space. Who might that be?
