After 31 years as a news photographer, Tim Wright is retiring from WTNH TV. Tim started his career at WXEX in Petersburgh Va, shooting and processing film. A native of Philly, Tim also worked at WFTV in Orlando. Tim estimates he has shot over 40 thousand stories in his career. His most memorable – the collapse of the Mianus River Bridge in Greenwich in 1983. Tim and reporter Adlai Stevenson III were among the first on the scene just after the 1:30AM collapse. Who was his favorite reporter over the years? “All of them,” says Tim. He outlasted three owners, five GMs and 13 news directors at WTNH. In retirement Tim plans to live in Quinby South Carolina and New Haven Ct. When asked about his plans Tim said, “I’m going to do whatever I want to do, as long as my wife says it’s ok.” A party for Tim will be held on Friday, April 29th at 7pm at Allegra’s Café in Branford. Cash bar. Please alert Tim Clune at WTNH if you plan to attend. |
