Less than a week after being recognized by the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information, Hartford Courant opinion editor Carolyn Lumsden has learned she is the recipient of the 2015 Yankee Quill Award. It is the highest honored bestowed by the New England Society of Newspaper Editors Foundation.

Lumsden has been chosen along with three other journalists, including Tom Farragher, with the Boston Globe, who also once wrote for the Day of New London.

The awards will be given in October at an event in Natick, Massachusetts.
