BTW – Connecticut’s longest-serving TV sportscaster (Rich Coppola) and his colleague Tim Lammers shifting to the news side on Sunday mornings…
MaryEllen Fillo’s Java blog has all the details…. of the announced changes:
Beginning Sept.18, 2011, Alison Morris and Brent Hardin will debut as the new anchor team of the FOX CT news at 10 and 11 p.m. The duo will anchor the news Sunday through Thursday. Meteorologists Rachel Frank and Geoff Fox will continue forecasting weather at 10 and 11 p.m.
On Sept. 19, Erika Arias and Logan Byrnes will debut as the new anchor team of the FOX CT morning news from 5 to 9 a.m. Byrnes will continue anchoring the 4:30 a.m. half hour. Arias has anchored the 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts for the past three years.
“I’m excited about the new schedule, but most importantly, I’m happy these hours will give me valued time with three young children,” said Arias. “I’ll be able to tuck them into bed each night which is something I am looking forward to.”
Jennifer Bosworth and Audrey Kuchen will anchor Fox CT News on Friday and Saturday nights.
On September 24, Tim Lammers will take over primary anchor duties on Saturday mornings; Rich Coppola will anchor Sunday mornings. They will be joined by Meteorologist Dan Amarante each weekend morning.
These moves come as Sarah French announces her departure from anchoring the FOX CT morning news.
