Suzanne Malveaux, who began her career at NECN in Boston in 1992, has announced she is leaving CNN after 20 years.
In a note to colleagues on Friday she said she will be working with the family of Nelson Mandela on story-telling projects about people seeking peace in conflict zones.
As a Washington based correspondent, Malveaux often filled in for Wolf Blitzer earning her the internal nick name “She Wolf.” Last year she recused herself from covering stories about the Biden administration when her long-time partner Karine Jean-Pierre was named White House press secretary.
