Former WTNH Chief Capitol Correspondent Mark Davis has checked out of Hartford Hospital where he was being treated for bladder cancer.

After surgery he reported he feels as if he was “hit by a truck,” but his doctor says he should be “hiking the hills of Granby by fall.” Davis thanked his former colleagues and friends for well wishes.

After 50 years in broadcasting, Davis retired from News 8 in the fall of 2020 during the first year of the pandemic largely to avoid exposure to the virus.

We of course wish him a full and speedy recovery.
