If you’re a newspaper editorial board member assigned to set up candidate interviews before the August 14th primary, don’t bother contacting US Senate candidate Linda McMahon. Her campaign manager says she’s not meeting with any editorial boards before her August contest with GOP rival Chris Shays. The McMahon campaign apparently doesn’t like what Ray Hackett of the Norwich Bulletin writes and claims that’s why she won’t meet with that paper; but the Journal Inquirer’s Managing Editor Chris Powell asserts her campaign is generally avoiding unscripted forums. By the way, the company McMahon co-founded – WWE – is already in a tussle with Powell and the Journal Inquirer. Apparently the McMahon campaign doesn’t ascribe to the advice of Mark Twain, “Never pick a fight with a man who buys his ink by the barrel.”
Why so LITTLE push-back from the state’s TV stations? Could it be they are afraid of losing ad dollars spent by HER campaign????
