The candidates at the first Lamont v. Stefanowski gubernatorial debate at the Garde in New London were feisty but dignified. The same cannot be said of a member of the CT General Assembly who was sitting in the crowd. State representative Kevin Skulczyck (R-Griswold/Lisbon/Plainfield) was sitting in the press section and yelled loudly during the debate while others were mostly applauding their candidate. During a commercial break, when a reporter pointed out to him that he was about to become a story unto himself, he went over to two members of the press corps and bellowed that they were “part of the fake news network.”
