The former managing editor of the Evening Sentinel of Ansonia, Robert Pollack, died last week at the age of 93. In addition to his time at the Sentinel, Pollack worked as a reporter with the then Bridgeport Post and the New Haven Register. He led the Sentinel from 1977 to 1992.
We have learned that former WTNH weather forecaster Geoff Fox is again facing serious health issues that he says are “fixable.” He has been dealing with severe laryngitis caused by a cancerous mass. He says his prognosis is excellent.
This weekend a new show premiered on Fox 61 called Featured. It will run Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8a.m. – replacing a weekend morning news block that ran at the same time. The show is anchored by Symphonie Privett and it will feature what the station calls “the most captivating stories from our state and across the country.”
As a result of this change Angelo Bavaro is now anchoring on Friday and Saturday nights.
Former Connecticut reporter Mike Cerullo is now part of the news team at WJAR in Providence. He joined last month. He is a 2020 graduate of Emerson College.
It’s been two weeks since Jolie Sherman announced her departure from NBC Connecticut. At any moment really, we expect her to tell us with specificity where she has signed on in Detroit.
