A number of Connecticut media personalities are making moves in mid-February by opening new chapters.
Mike Mavredakis, formerly of the Hartford Courant, is starting a position in the media relations department with Wesleyan University in Middletown. Mike joined the Courant last June.
Another former Courant reporter is moving to Hearst CT Media. Steve Goode spent more than three decades at the Courant and will begin covering the Hartford area for Hearst in March. For the last year he has been working for America Business Media headed by former Hartford Business Journal editor Vince Valvo.
Former WTNH weatherman Kevin Arnone is leaving the television business after ten years. He has been working most recently at WIS in Columbia, South Carolina. He announced he is leaving on social media at the end of last week, but says he’s not ready to share his next move. We only know it won’t be in TV.
Laurel readers watching the Super Bowl this weekend may have noticed some well-known Connecticut celebrities during the commercial breaks.
(Editor’s note: By definition “celebrities” are “well known”).
