The news media world is not waiting for Roger Ailes to depart the scene – speculation is already focused on who will succeed Ailes as the leader of Fox News once he is formally shown the door.
The New York Times is reporting an internal investigation, launched after former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson of Greenwich filed a sexual harassment suit against Ailes, quickly uncovered enough information to make Ailes’s survival at Fox impossible.
The latest reporting suggests Ailes will depart the network he built by the end of the week.
