As is often the case, The New York Times follows up on a story The Laurel first brought to your attention at the end of last year.
In a story written by Annie Karni, the Times spots Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy(D) as a rising vocal critic of the Trump administration. As we noted in December, Murphy’s decision to own and share his outrage over the behavior and policies of Trump and his administration, is gaining him national attention. Four years away from the next presidential election it is very likely Murphy’s decision to be a leading voice of the opposition will earn him mention as a possible candidate in 2028.
Karni, who is married to former Day of New London and Hearst Connecticut reporter Ted Mann, points out in her story that like Trump himself, Murphy’s communications strategy includes a heavy emphasis on all platforms, including social media.
