And now for our irregular Monday morning feature called Names in the News…
Angela Dias. The long time WTIC-AM morning news anchor and part time actress is appearing in a new play at the Chester Meeting House. This time, Dias is Martha, in the Edward Albee play, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf? Two performances are scheduled for this coming Friday and Saturday.
Anna Sale. The former WNPR reporter continues to get positive reviews for her WNYC based podcast, Death, Sex and Money. In the public media world she’s becoming a “go to” source for those trying to figure out the success and durability of the podcasting form.
Brittany Murphy. The Emerson College graduate is joining WGGB in Springfield(Western Mass News) as a morning traffic reporter. Most recently she was news director for WMCT in Marlborough, MA.
Media General/Meredith. We’re waiting for word on the fate of the previously announced merger between the two broadcast property owners. The fate of the original deal was said to be up for discussion at a meeting of the Media General board last Friday, but over the weekend there were no new developments to report. If the Media General/Meredith deal goes forward, it is believed either WTNH or WFSB would have to be sold.
