The New York Post is reporting Gannett is preparing a new bid for tronc(formerly Tribune Publishing).
The new bid will be higher than the one rejected in the spring.
Tronc owns the Hartford Courant. The new bid follows by a few weeks speculative reports suggesting tronc has not closed the door entirely on a Gannett takeover and may realize such a buyout is in the long term best interest of tronc shareholders.
