The state of Connecticut is awarding a $1.2 million grant for the revitalization of the long-time home of The Day of New London.
The money will be used to create 35 new residential units, facade repairs and energy efficiency upgrades, four new commercial spaces, and space to display The Day’s historic newspaper collection.
The money is part of a second phase of a downtown New London redevelopment plan. The Day building is being sold to a Maine real estate development company. The paper is looking for new office space in New London.
