Hartford Courant employees were rounded up this morning and told the paper has a new publisher.

Rick Daniels will begin work next month as publisher and CEO of the Hartford Courant Media Group for Tribune Publishing.

He replaces Nancy Meyer who is moving to Florida to assume the title of publisher and CEO of the Orlando Sentinel Media Group, also owned by Tribune. The Sentinel website may look familiar to Courant readers. Myer has been with the Courant for eight years and became publisher in 2013.

Daniels was recently CEO of GoLocal24, a Rhode Island based digital news company, according the story posted on the Courant’s website.
