The recent news we’ve highlighted from CT Public (WNPR/CPTV) has been departures (John Dankosky, Faith Middleton) but two new hires have been announced.
Julianne Varacchi starts in early January as Visuals Director (overseeing visual needs for CT Public including CPTV, WNPR.org, New England News Collaborative). She was the Senior Photo Editor for digital and print platforms at ESPN as well as lead photo editor for The Undefeated website. She was instrumental in ESPN’s photographic coverage of major sporting events worldwide.
Joe Amon has been named Visuals Editor. He’s worked at the Denver Post since 2008 and received many awards; they include a Murrow for a documentary film covering the Heroin epidemic in 2012 and a Pulitzer for staff coverage of the Aurora Theater shooting.
