The CT Examiner’s Robert Storace has an interesting exclusive; apparently State Senator Martha Marx (D-New London) had a little accident with scissors earlier this year:
“A state senator from New London is alleged to have cut wires to her own voting box at the State Capitol earlier this year, disabling her ability to vote and potentially causing $15,000 in damages. She later posed with a pair of scissors during a photo with top Democratic leadership, multiple sources told CT Examiner.
“A Democratic senator, who asked not to be identified, said State Sen. Martha Marx, D-New London, was clearing out her desk in April when she “cut all the wires” connected to it. Wires to the voting box were also cut, unbeknownst to Marx, the source said.”
There seems to be a difference of opinion as to why Marx cut the wires – was it unintentional or were they annoying? But in a chamber where Republicans are outnumbered 2 to 1, this is a chance for the GOP to jump on the majority party.
