Op-eds Matter

We were flipping through our latest issue of the Quarterly Journal of Political Science when we noticed a story promoting the usefulness of op-eds when it comes to changing minds.

The study says more than 50% of the time, reading an op-ed has the power to change opinions. It would be interesting to see a similar study on social media posts on issues of the day since the – usually shorter postings – are arguably the current day equivalent of the traditional newspaper opinion piece (or as we sometimes say, “article” sted “piece”).
