The opening line from a CBS Evening News broadcast last month is winning Scott Pelley praise from people as varied as Bill Maher and Dan Rather. The anchor, who has a home in Darien, has apparently made an editorial decision to point out the falsehoods peddled by President Trump without necessarily calling him a liar.
Not everyone thinks the decision is the right one, but Pelley predecessor Dan Rather(who has been calling out Trump on his own Facebook page) says Pelley is simply telling the truth, not taking sides.
