For the first time, New York’s network affiiliates will share video for certain events. This happens occasionally in Connecticut — for presidential visits, funerals, court cases — but not on a regular basis. Serious discussions have been going on for months betwen the heads of all the local television stations. A proposal by WVIT’s management would create a situation in which all the TV stations would devote resources to newsgathering that would be shared the same day. Word on the street is that WFSB and WTNH have decided to take a pass for now.
