In an interview that may win Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan(R) a subpoena to appear before the congressional committee investigating the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol, Taylor Popielarz of Spectrum News asked a series of very simple questions.
“Did you speak to former President Trump, before, during or after” the attack?
Jordan answered that he had spoken to the president, he thought after the attack, but he wasn’t sure. His rambling, stumbling response was reminiscent of Nathan Thurm, the sweaty, dissembling lawyer played by Martin Short on Saturday Night Live. Surely there was a Jordan press aide on the other side of the camera thinking, “shut up. Stop talking!”
