The publisher of The News-Times, Shawn Palmer, is leaving the paper to become Senior Vice President/Chief Revenue Officer of the Record-Journal Publishing Company (publishers of the Meriden Record-Journal, The Westerly Sun and 10 weekly newspapers in CT and Rhode Island).
Palmer began his career with Hearst Connecticut Media Services as a consultant before being named associate publisher of The News-Times in January 2010. He was named Publisher of the newspaper in February 2011.
Palmer has a long history of working in the newspaper industry, having worked at The Hartford Courant, The New London Day and the Newark Star-Ledger. His last day at the paper will be October 18.
