The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has awarded a “substantial grant” to CT Public Media(WNPR) and GFR Media that will result in increased coverage of the connections between Connecticut and Puerto Rico.
CT Public says the grant will fund one reporter in Connecticut and one reporter in Puerto Rico. GFR Media is the publisher of Puerto Rico’s two largest newspapers; El Nuevo Dia and Primera Hora.
Connecticut has the largest percentage of residents who identify as Puerto Rican by population.
